Owen Wilson's aging Lightning McQueen will be joined by 3 new characters, voiced by a great cast. Nathan Fillion, Kerry Washington, and Lea DeLaria have signed on to play new characters, detailed below.
Kerry Washington plays Natalie Certain, pictured above. She spoke about the role to People Magazine, describing the character thusly:
“She is a super-smarty-pants statistician. She reminds of a statistical analyst on cable news or SportsCenter. She knows everything there is to know about the ins and outs of statistics when it comes to racing.”
She's a sports car, described by Pixar as:
Book-smart and mathematically gifted, Certain may earn top marks in her ability to evaluate a racer's stats, but she could be underestimating the importance of determination.
Nathan Fillion voices Sterling, described as:
...a brilliant businesscar who runs Rust-eze Racing Center, one of the most successful elite training facilities in the country. The always dapper Sterling comes across as unassuming and laid back, but business is business, and Sterling is driven to ensure all of his investments pay off.
Lea DeLaria (Orange is the New Black) plays the large and in charge Miss Fritter, described as:
...a local legend at the Thunder Hollow Speedway demolition derby. Fritter's formidable school-bus size is intimidating, but it's her smoke stacks of doom, razor-sharp stop sign and crazy collection of her victims' license plates that usually steers her opponents in the other direction.
The three new characters join an already impressive cast, featuring returning players Owen Wilson, Tony Shalhoub, John Ratzenberger, Bob Costas, Cheech Marin, Bob Peterson, Bonnie Hunt, Larry the Cable Guy, Jenifer Lewis, Michael Wallis, and many more.
