Because we fans now have the mixed blessing of getting everything we ask for, Veronica Mars is returning for an 8-episode run on Hulu, a 4th season airing just 12 years after season 3!Read More
Despite James Murdoch allegedly confiding that Bones was, during its long run, Fox's biggest earner, Fox has been found guilty of fraud, lying and cheating the cast and creators of the show, and are going to have to pay $179 million for their, and I'm quoting the arbitrator here, "reprehensible" behavior. I know, who would have believed Fox would ever be capable of such a thing? I mean those lovely skeletons on Fox and Friends seem like lovely people to me, as does Laura Schlessinger - but apparently there are some bad hombres over there, who somehow missed the memo that you don't ever want to tangle with David Boreanaz in a legal environment - did these executives somehow miss Angel season 5?
In any case, and in all seriousness, I applaud the cast and creators of Bones for fighting the good fight, and congratulate them for their huge victory. And so begins the second hundred episodes of the Mat Sager Podcast! I’m still sick, I’ll tell you all about it, but more importantly lets talk about the drama we saw at the Grammys, which are doubtless going to pale before an even more tense Oscars broadcast. Also, Marvel has signed up with Hulu for 4 new animated series - 3 featuring one or two characters, and a 4th series, The Offenders, which sees our heroes, villains and ducks joining forces as a street-level superteam. Huh. I wonder if that isn’t a bit of meta commentary on some other streaming service that Marvel has teamed up with in the recent past - nah. This couldn’t be intended as a middle finger to Netflix, Marvel is WAY too classy for something like that.Read More
It's freezing in New York City, and a blizzard is heading our way - which means I can't go see the movie that made it to number one on my list of most anticipated movies of 2019, Glass. And, as the reviews keep coming in and getting worse, I do not mind the wait.
Especially with so much great stuff now streaming - Punisher season 2, which also has decidedly mixed reviews but which I'm very hopeful will be lots of fun, debuted on Netflix today. Also new to Netflix is Fyre: The Greatest Party That Never Happened, which looks like a very interesting look at the disaster and the con men who organized it, although Hulu actually beat them to the punch, releasing their own documentary Fire Fraud earlier this week.Read More
